Stephen Smith
A Southern Alberta freelance writer for close to a decade; Stephen has been paid to write about TV shows, movies, books and music he would have checked out anyway. Covering the TV and comedy beats for Calgary’s Fast Forward Weekly, he has interviewed many famous people. An hour spent chatting face to face with legendary Canadian scientist and broadcaster Dr. David Suzuki remains a favorite professional and personal experience. The Trailer Park Boys were pretty awesome too.
Stephen’s far ranging work has additionally appeared in the pages of Calgary Herald, Dream House, Calgary Real Estate News, Lifestyle Alberta, Calgary Inc., Alberta Oil, and Canadian Parent. Not bad for guy who got his writing start penning off color tales to amuse his junior high buddies.
More than ten years of radio copywriting and voiceover experience can also be found on Stephen’s resume. Young Grande Prairie listeners used to call into 1050 CFGP in an attempt to “Stump Steve-O” with Simpsons trivia questions. They usually failed in their attempts.
