Many people know Corolla as that wisecracking bushy haired guy from the sixth season of Dancing With the Stars. Others know him from his four years on Comedy Central’s The Man Show alongside Jimmy Kimmel or his lengthy stint on radio and television’s Love Line with Dr. Drew Pinsky. However you know Carolla or even if you don’t, he’s worth checking out on his podcast.
Taking the Ace Man’s Act On-Line
This current platform for the comedy star sprang up in the wake of the cancellation of his radio morning show which was based in Los angels but ran in several other Western US markets. Adam Carolla initially billed his podcast as a way for his many loyal radio fans to continue to get their Ace Man fix. Almost instantly it achieved its current spot as the most downloaded comedy audio podcast on iTunes.

Carolla’s orange couch in his Southern California warehouse, where the podcast originates, has played host to comedy stars Andy Dick, Artie Lange and former SNL cast member Chris Kattan. Carolla has also dad sit downs with veteran character actor Eric Roberts, Curb Your Enthusiasm Actress Cheryl Hines and acclaimed film director Francis Ford Coppola.

Adam Carrolla can get an entertaining back and forth going with almost anybody. A few innocuous comments from a guest can launch him into an entertaining tirade on thing or another. He might go off on the lackluster songwriting of musician Steve Miller, Los Angeles area cops who write oodles of tickets or the film ratings people who slapped his charming 2007 comedy film, The Hammer, with an inconceivable “R” rating.
Carolla’s unique ability to hilariously condemn the things that bother him makes for addictive listening. He can make razor sharp pop culture references and parallels at a moments notice. But this is no raving maniac or shock jock character. He’s a guy with a lot of every man appeal who can poke fun at himself and is not afraid to show a softer side especially when dealing with his friend Bald Brian’s current battle with brain cancer.
